Vet Tech Department: Veterinary Technicians Employment Type: Full Time Location: Bossier City, Louisiana Compensation: $14.00 - $18.00 / hour Description North Airline Animal Hospital Bossier City, Louisiana North Airline Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Full-Time Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated veterinary healthcare team in Bossier City, Louisiana . As a Veterinary Technician, you'll serve as the veterinarian's primary medical support, playing a critical role in patient care, client education, and the overall success of our hospital. What You'll Do As a Veterinary Technician, you will work closely with our veterinarians to provide high-quality medical care while ensuring an outstanding client and patient experience. Serve as the veterinarian's primary medical support throughout patient examinations, diagnostics, treatment, and follow-up care Obtain complete and accurate patient histories and record vital signs Prepare examination rooms and assist veterinarians during appointments Safely and confidently restrain dogs and cats for examinations and procedures Collect laboratory samples including blood, urine, fecal, and cytology specimens Perform venipuncture and catheter placement Run in-house diagnostic testing including bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal testing, and other laboratory procedures Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anesthesia under veterinarian supervision Assist with dental procedures and digital radiography Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in patient condition Maintain accurate medical records using veterinary practice management software Educate clients on preventive care, medications, nutrition, treatment plans, and post-operative instructions Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment area while following hospital safety and sanitation protocols Support teammates in creating an efficient, positive, and collaborative work environment Required Qualifications Minimum of 1-2 years of veterinary technician experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program or equivalent experience preferred Strong knowledge of veterinary nursing, patient care, anesthesia, laboratory procedures, and animal handling Experience collecting blood samples and performing laboratory diagnostics Excellent communication and client education skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records or veterinary software We're looking for someone who is: Passionate about animal health and patient advocacy Compassionate toward pets and their families Professional, dependable, and team-oriented Detail-oriented with excellent critical thinking skills Calm under pressure and adaptable in a fast-paced hospital An excellent communicator who enjoys educating clients Eager to learn and continuously develop their veterinary skills Benefits North Airline Animal Hospital offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports your health, well-being, and professional growth.
