Senior Project Architect Role Description: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for Senior Project Architect at our Houston Downtown office. Location Houston, Texas Reports to Vice President/Principal-in-Charge Employment Type 40 FT Hours Compensation Type Salary Registration(s) Registered Architect Education Bachelor's in Architecture required Duties Leads technical design for the office and works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to produce design documents for a wide variety of building types. Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of projects with a high degree of technical complexity. Supervise project team's work cooperatively with the project manager and project designer. Ensure project development, documentation and its completion meets schedule, budget, code requirements, and technical quality requirements. Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions. Review work and propose changes to design, and to comply with building codes and budget. Prepare plan of action to resolve project issues. Prepare bids or assist with contractor selection process. Assist market sector teams in preparing proposals, and participating in new project presentations as requested. Collaborates with project teams to solve tough problems and provide creative design solutions. Key Responsibilities Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process. Productively collaborates with PMs and encourages teams to achieve success and camaraderie amongst each other. Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Assists PM on ensuring that quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations. Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current. Assist with appropriate administrative and project support tasks supporting the needs of the PM on assigned project tasks. Contributes to successful delivery and performance of projects. Complete assignments on-time, within budget, and with highest level of quality. Routinely proposes and produces more effective ways to accomplish tasks. Assists PM as needed on work planning. Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Assists PM on ensuring proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects. Assists PMs as needed on reviewing project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Assists PM in leading successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client). Builds Relationships: Fostering thoughtful utilization of human and material resources to optimize success. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (required). Licensed Architect in Texas (required). Minimum 10 years of architectural experience, including leadership in technical design and team coordination. Strong portfolio of work in Institutional, Commercial, or Public Works projects. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Advanced proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage consultant coordination. Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities.
