The Opportunity CACI is seeking a Supervisory Paralegal to support the Department of Justice’s mission. This position plays a critical role and involves working on high-profile cases. We are looking for candidates who are looking to develop their management skills in support of high visibility cases. You will gain invaluable litigation experience as you go through various phases of the EDRM spectrum while assisting and supporting the Department of Justice in their efforts to prosecute perpetrators of Health Care Fraud. In this role you will supervise a staff of paralegals and law clerks who provide direct support to federal prosecutors. Responsibilities The Supervisory Paralegal manages, supervises and supports the Paralegal team. In this role, you will perform litigation services while complying with established procedures, including, but not limited to the following: Direct and supervise the work of paralegals and other support staff. Use analytical and problem‑solving abilities by performing complex legal and factual research utilizing Relativity and other eDiscovery software. Interact with staff and DOJ case teams during the planning and execution of project requirements, schedules and all litigation support activities. Monitor work and report on progress of investigative and support tasks. Ensure that staff and support team's work meet contract and attorney requirements and are delivered on time. Troubleshoot and perform quality control spot-checks. Formulate administrative and technical procedures to ensure work/tasks are completed. Report to Project Supervisor or Project Manager; may also have significant contact with COR, Government Case Manager, trial attorneys and staff, client agency staff, and opposing counsel. Design and develop systems and procedures for tracking, controlling, and managing case files, exhibits and other case‑specific materials. Assist trial staff in coordination with expert witnesses and litigation consultants. Arrange for access to appropriate DOJ libraries and other legal research facilities. Coordinate with other contractor support staff components, including data processing support staff, in order to accomplish work. Qualifications Required: At least three years of litigation paralegal experience in automated litigation support, or JD or currently attending an ABA‑accredited law school and having completed at least one year of study. An equivalent level of legal training or experience may be substituted. Supervisory experience, including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys. Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw. Hands‑on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging. Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure, in a deadline‑driven, fast‑paced environment. Customer‑focused, congenial, professional, can‑do attitude for working with staff and government clients. Desired: Paralegal Certificate. eDiscovery experience with Relativity and other eDiscovery tools used throughout the EDRM process and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, similar to the duties and responsibilities described above. Pay Range There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
