Role Description The Automotive Service Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Woodbridge, NJ. This role is responsible for greeting customers, listening to their concerns, and accurately documenting vehicle symptoms and service requests. The Service Advisor prepares estimates, explains recommended repairs and maintenance, and obtains customer authorization for work. Daily tasks include coordinating with technicians, scheduling appointments, managing repair orders, and updating customers on vehicle status and timelines. The role also involves handling payments, promoting recommended services, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a clean, professional service counter and waiting area. The Service Advisor contributes to shop efficiency by prioritizing work, maintaining accurate records, and supporting a positive, team-oriented environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Automotive Repair to accurately interpret technician recommendations and explain services to customers. Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills to build trust, handle concerns, and create positive service experiences. Candidates should possess clear Communication skills, including active listening, professional phone etiquette, and the ability to explain technical information in plain language. Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in an automotive service environment is highly beneficial. Familiarity with repair order systems, scheduling software, and basic computer skills is preferred. Ability to work on-site full time, multitask in a fast-paced shop, and collaborate effectively with technicians and management.
