Senior Logistics Operations Manager (Linehaul and Forwarding)

The Ground Product Senior Manager provides senior operational leadership and strategic direction for CEVA's ground transportation operations. This position is accountable for end-to-end oversight of service delivery, financial performance, business growth, safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across multiple facilities and customer contracts. The Senior Manager partners closely with customers, independent contractors, carriers, and internal cross-functional teams to design effective transportation solutions, strengthen long-term relationships, optimize transportation networks, maximize fleet performance, and consistently deliver profit and performance objectives.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Lead the Ground Transportation Product Line, overseeing domestic transportation, middle-mile distribution, and logistics operations. Drive revenue growth, customer retention, and strategic business development initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, Independent Contractors (ICs), and internal stakeholders. Optimize transportation networks through effective route planning, capacity management, equipment allocation, fleet utilization, and empty mile reduction. Manage asset-based transportation operations, including tractors, trailers, maintenance coordination, and fleet performance. Lead carrier and IC programs, ensuring strong performance, compliance, capacity, and service execution. Provide leadership, coaching, and development for operations teams while supporting organizational growth and succession planning. Oversee start-ups, expansions, capital investments, and resource planning to support business growth. Manage multiple transportation operations with full P&L responsibility and accountability for profitability. Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, CSA, HOS, safety, and regulatory requirements. Oversee transportation safety, claims management, incident response, cargo security, and Hazmat/high-value freight operations. Utilize TMS, telematics, and transportation analytics tools to drive operational, safety, and financial performance. Establish and monitor key transportation KPIs including fleet utilization, cost per mile, carrier mix, on-time performance, claims rates, SLA compliance, and cost savings initiatives. Prepare and present operational, financial, and performance reports, budgets, and forecasts to senior leadership.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Business, or a related field required. Master's Degree strongly preferred. (Equivalent professional experience may be substituted for a degree when the background is directly within transportation, asset-based fleet operations, or 3PL environments.) Minimum 7 years of experience managing large-scale transportation, distribution, logistics, or middle-mile operations. Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role with experience overseeing multiple geographically dispersed facilities, terminals, or transportation networks. Experience leading asset-based transportation operations with responsibility for fleet performance, equipment utilization, transportation profitability, and operational execution. Proven experience managing Independent Contractor (IC) driver networks and third-party carrier relationships. Experience within middle-mile distribution, LTL transportation, dedicated fleet, linehaul, hub-and-spoke, or similar transportation network operations preferred. Experience managing high-value cargo and/or hazardous materials (Hazmat) transportation operations preferred. Skills & Characteristics Proven success driving revenue growth, customer retention, and profitability across multi-site transportation operations. Strong knowledge of domestic transportation, fleet management, carrier management, capacity planning, and operational performance metrics. Experience optimizing transportation networks through route planning, lane analysis, cost modeling, and capacity utilization. Expertise in transportation financial management, including cost-per-mile, fleet utilization, cost control, budgeting, and EBITDA performance. Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, CSA, HOS, transportation safety, and regulatory compliance requirements. Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), telematics, fleet technologies, and transportation analytics tools (e.g., Samsara, Tenstreet, Comdata, or similar platforms). Proven ability to develop and manage KPIs that drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and cost savings. Experience managing transportation claims, incident response, cargo security, and corrective action programs. Strong project and program management capabilities with a practical, solution-oriented approach. Demonstrated ability to lead high-volume transportation operations while balancing customer service, financial performance, and operational efficiency. Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, planning, and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
