Radiology Assistant

Assists the Radiology Technologist with room turnover, patient transport, stocking rooms, and paperwork. Responsible for the safe transportation of patients, specimens, supplies, medication, film, records, equipment and miscellaneous items.

Performs transportation duties in an independent manner with little or no direct supervision.

Safely transports patients and any supplies/items as directed evaluating patient's transportation needs and requests additional help if needed before moving patients

Understands and complies with current National Patient Safety Goals

Understands correct patient identifiers

Follows proper hand sanitizing procedures when entering and exiting patient rooms

Uses proper lifting techniques when moving the patient

Uses proper BSI technique when handling and transporting specimens/medications

Accepts direction from nursing staff for patient care guidance

Utilizes appropriate process to notify floor staff when taking a patient off the floor

Performs department maintenance duties to ensure a clean, efficient department. Performs support functions of the medical imaging department to ensure patient expectations and needs are met.

Maintains and coordinates patient flow to ensure efficient and expedient patient care

Assists the technologists in performing departmental tasks

Responsible for cleaning all equipment in the radiology department

Assists patients in the radiology department

Answers department phone calls

Performs all other duties as assigned

The compensation range for this position is $20.02 per hour - $32.43 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
