MRP Analyst

Position: MRP Analyst Location: West Chicago, IL Role Overview The MRP Analyst oversees the inventories and orders needed to support production schedules for assigned items.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MRP Analyst/Buyer primarily for ingredients (and some packaging) Manage flow of materials between suppliers and plant to ensure availability for production and communicate changes. Proactively manage purchase orders, ensuring fulfillment and handling backorders, shortages, amendments, and preventing production delays. Ensure inventory meets demand; expedite or de‑expedite materials to avoid shortages or overages. Maintain purchase order data, vendor data, and pricing in QAD. Participate in vendor relations and negotiations as needed. Detailed item set‑up in 1.4.17 for all assigned items. Work with Inventory Control group to maintain inventory accuracy. Participate in annual fiscal inventory. Special projects as required. Backed up by other MRP Analysts.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, a candidate must meet the following requirements. EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE Minimum 3 years of experience in a Purchasing Analyst/Buyer role. 3+ years of inventory experience within a manufacturing environment. Experience with MRP systems (QAD, WISE, Formweigh) required. Industry experience in Food & Beverage or Pharmaceuticals preferred. Experience with railroad bulk commodity deliveries a plus. College degree preferred but not required; APICS certification desired.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

High attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple tasks and projects with deadlines. Self‑starter with ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently within a team. Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Minimum compensation is $49,063 annually. Compensation is determined by experience, education, skills, training, and internal equity. Eligible employees receive the company’s comprehensive benefits program.

Employment Type: Regular Full Time Shift: 1st shift Scheduled Work Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday–Friday

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Office and plant/warehouse environment. Inside environmental conditions may expose to weather changes. Noise level may require speaking above ambient noise. Hazards include proximity to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, and high heat. FOOD SAFETY and QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES Follow applicable procedures and work instructions per SQF / Company Policy. Monitor Quality Control Points (QCP).
