Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job

Overview Registered Nurse – Med Surg, Rome, NY. Travel assignment starting 07/27/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,811–$1,974 per week. Shift: 3x12 Nights. Work setting: hospital-based Med Surg unit. This assignment requires NYS RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification prior to start. Floating to MS is required. Minimum 2 years of current RN experience; travel experience preferred. Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Med Surg unit, including assessment, monitoring of vitals, and documentation of progress notes
• Administer medications and IV therapies, manage cardiac drips when ordered, perform wound care, and respond to clinical changes
• Read and interpret ECG strips, recognize rhythm disturbances, and apply NIH Stroke Protocols when indicated
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, implement physician orders, and educate patients and families about care plans
• Float to related units as required by the assignment and maintain patient safety, comfort, and infection control practices
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record and ensure seamless communication with the care team

Requirements

• Active RN license in New York (NYS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificates
• NIH Stroke Certification required prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of current RN experience; travel experience preferred
• Strong IV skills, ability to work with cardiac drips, read EKGs, and perform wound care
• Floating to Med Surg as needed; ability to work the 3x12 Night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
• Education: Graduation from an approved nursing program (RN)
