Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Cable Assembler to join our team. This role involves working in an industrial shop setting, focusing on the assembly of electrical connectors used in powering electric pumps for drilling oil and gas wells. This opportunity is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with their hands and have a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
- Work at an individual workbench in an industrial shop setting.
- Strip cables by unwrapping the rubber exterior, wearing safety gloves, and using a knife to cut away insulation.
- Measure and cut cables to specified lengths using hand tools and measuring devices such as rulers, tape measures, diagonal cutters, and crimpers.
- Perform tasks according to engineering blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Conduct visual inspections of work performed to ensure there are no defects.
- Assist with packaging cables cut to customer specifications.
- Operate with caution and adhere to safety guidelines while handling heavy cable reels delivered by forklift.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Basic math skills, including decimal conversions.
- Ability to be on feet for 8 hours a day and move carts with heavy cables.
- Manual dexterity for wire stripping and assembly.
- Commitment to teamwork and a positive attitude.
- Adherence to safety rules and professional conduct.
- Excellent attendance and reliability.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- US citizenship due to government contract work.
- Willingness to commit to the assignment for 6-12 months.
- Openness to working 50+ hours per week, including some weekends.
- Experience in a shop or assembly environment is preferred.
- Capability to handle heavy lifting and work in a team-oriented environment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
