About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech Profession: Sterile Processing Specialty: Central Sterile Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Experience: Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing Technician experience required License: National Certification preferred Certifications: CRCST, CER preferred Must-Have: Experience in decontamination, processing, tray assembly, and instrument inspections Description: ASAP start needed. Interviews will be conducted, followed by manager approval. The shift is from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM daily. The facility has 89 beds. There are 4 operating rooms plus any departments that need equipment processed. The average patient census is 10-15 cases per day. Candidates with 5+ years of experience will be accepted if new to travel roles. Common procedures include general surgeries, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, GYN, heavy ortho, and endoscopies. Required skills include processing loaner pans and trays, wrapping, high-level disinfection, and transport of sterile items. Experience with endoscope processing, bronchoscopy scopes, and GI scopes is essential. Case picking is not part of the duties. Support will be available from other techs during the day, with potential for solo work during evenings, weekends, or call back. Collaboration with operating room staff is expected. The unit uses a tracking system and specific equipment for scope disinfection. Weekend rotation involves on-call duties every fourth weekend. On-call hours are 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM for 1-2 evenings per week with no overnight call required. Weekend hours are from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with a 30-minute response time. Holiday expectations include one holiday per contract, with on-call duties only. Requests for time off must go through management. Scrub color will be provided.
