Staff Accountant

Senior Accountant Join the Beverly Homes Team! Beverly Homes is a fast-growing, second-generation, family-owned home builder specializing in the development of new home communities, residential construction, and luxury custom homes throughout Horry and Georgetown Counties, South Carolina. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced financial leadership while playing a key role in supporting the company's continued growth and financial success. Position Summary The Senior Accountant provides high-level accounting and financial support to the Controller by assisting with financial reporting, general ledger activities, project accounting, and the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Assist with acquisition, development, and construction loan tracking. Prepare financial schedules, supporting worksheets, and account analyses. Review and approve real estate settlement statements and closing documents. Monitor and reconcile inventory and land development costs. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Support the preparation of project pro formas and financial analyses. Prepare property tax documentation and monitor tax payments for multiple entities. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities. Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and financial records. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting. Ensure financial transactions are accurately coded and recorded. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances. Assist with internal controls and recommend process improvements. Support external audits and provide requested financial documentation. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information. Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience (construction or real estate experience preferred). Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Experience with accounting software; construction accounting experience is a plus. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Professional written and verbal communication skills. High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
