About the Position

Job Title: Travel RN Emergency Room Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: Multi-tasking and throughput focused with teamwork skills 3-5 years of Emergency Room experience Advanced skills in assisting with intubation and emergency lifesaving procedures Description: This position involves working in a fast-paced emergency department. The unit features 39 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4. Staffing includes one unit secretary and 2-3 technicians on the floor. Key equipment includes crash carts, Level One, Alaris pumps, and bedside cardiac monitors. Documentation is performed using a designated electronic health record system. A schedule is posted four weeks in advance, preferably with three 12-hour shifts per week. The floating policy allows for holding patients in the emergency room during capacity situations. Patient experience requirements include 30-60 minutes of patient rounding and bedside shift report. Advanced procedures performed include chest tube insertion, moderate sedation, lumbar puncture, laceration repair, and blood product administration. The dress code consists of black scrubs.
