Senior Accountant

Pacific Biosciences seeks a Senior Accountant in Menlo Park, CA to manage financial close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and accounting operations. The role involves month-end and year-end closes, fixed asset management, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance within a growing life science technology company.
Responsibilities
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Manage end-to-end accounting for fixed assets, construction in process, prepaid expenses, and intangibles
- Prepare footnotes, schedules, and audit documentation for SEC reporting and external audits
- Review contracts and transactions for GAAP compliance and provide accounting guidance to business partners
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting controls and operational efficiency
Requirements
- Five+ years corporate accounting or audit firm experience with increasing responsibility
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent
- Proficiency with SAP or comparable ERP systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat skills
- Knowledge of 2013 COSO framework and SOX compliance application
- Strong analytical and technical accounting skills
- Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and deadline management
Compensation: $112,000-$168,000 base
