Dental Assistant – Periodontic Office

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our periodontic practice. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a surgical dental environment and will provide excellent chairside support while helping ensure our patients feel comfortable and well cared for throughout their treatment.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance during periodontal procedures and surgical treatments
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures
• Assist the periodontist during surgeries and other clinical procedures
• Welcome and prepare patients for treatment while providing a warm, reassuring experience
• Take and develop dental X-rays as appropriate
• Assist with impressions and other clinical records
• Maintain accurate and organized patient documentation
• Perform sterilization and follow strict infection-control protocols
• Clean, disinfect, and properly prepare treatment rooms between patients
• Maintain dental instruments and clinical supplies
• Provide patients with post-operative instructions and reinforce treatment recommendations
• Work closely with the periodontist and dental team to ensure efficient patient flow
• Maintain a professional, positive, and team-oriented environment

Qualifications

• Previous dental assisting experience preferred
• Experience in a periodontal or surgical dental practice is a plus
• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization procedures, and infection control
• Comfortable assisting with surgical procedures
• Experience taking dental X-rays preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate and professional chairside manner
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn
