Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound / Sono Tech to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in diagnostic medical sonography, with specific expertise in Maternal Fetal Medicine. The role requires proficiency in abdominal ultrasound procedures and familiarity with the anatomy of organs such as the liver, gallbladder, aorta, spleen, kidneys, bile ducts, and pancreas. The candidate must hold a current ARDMS certification, including advanced certifications in their specialty, and be registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Additionally, certification by The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Abdominal and OB-Gyn ultrasound or Cardiac Sonography is required, along with BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Vascular Technologist certification (RVT) is preferred and must be obtained within two years of hire.


Qualifications:

  • Completion of a CAHEA-approved formal training program in diagnostic medical sonography.
  • 2+ years of sonographer experience, specifically in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
  • Current ARDMS certification; advanced specialty certification preferred.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Knowledge of relevant anatomy and ultrasound pathology.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare software and information systems.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients.
Physical and Environmental Demands:
This role involves medium physical work, including exerting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 to 25 pounds frequently. Employees may be exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue, with potential occupational risks related to infectious diseases and hazardous waste.
