Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency department, demonstrating competent clinical practice. The role involves triaging patients, performing assessments, and initiating immediate care in life-threatening situations. The RN supports both acute and non-acute patients, utilizing advanced nursing skills and assisting physicians.

Responsibilities:

• Perform nursing assessments, promptly intervening and participating in care planning.
• Assess patients’ needs regularly and deliver skilled nursing services according to physician-approved care plans and standards.
• Process physician orders accurately and follow up on medication changes or clarifications.
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness, suggesting or implementing modifications to enhance patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with team members to update and revise treatment plans based on current patient information.
• Support patient comfort and psychological well-being, offering discharge and follow-up instructions.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Michigan RN license as verified by Nursys or LARA.
• Have at least 2 years of recent ER experience.
• Demonstrate current skills in emergency nursing, including triage and advanced care procedures.
• Hold active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Possess experience working with Epic EMR.
• Must provide two supervisory reference forms from within the last two years.
