Maintenance Mechanic

General Mechanic – Crossett, AR Georgia‑Pacific seeks a General Mechanic for a 12‑hour rotating shift, including weekends, holidays, nights, and overtime. The starting pay is $36.64 per hour. Responsibilities Perform precision maintenance, including laser alignments, pumps, motors, fans, and related equipment. Execute roll changes on paper machines and converting lines. Adhere to strict safety rules, wearing required PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel‑toed boots. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. At least five (5) years of full‑time experience as a general mechanic in the pulp and paper industry, or an equivalent combination of millwright, machinist, or pipe‑fitting experience. Or a technical degree or equivalent in general maintenance with a minimum of three (3) years experience as a general mechanic in the industry. Or completion of a general mechanic apprenticeship program with at least two (2) years experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with hydraulics/pneumatics. Five (5) or more years of experience as a millwright. Experience welding on equipment. Electrical experience. Compensation and Benefits Hourly rate: $36.64.
