Maintenance IIGranby Public Schools is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance II employee to support the maintenance, repair, and operation of district buildings, grounds, and athletic fields. The ideal candidate will bring broad commercial building maintenance experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative facilities team.This is a full-time, year-round position with an anticipated start date as soon as possible.Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.Starting Rate: $32.81 per hour, in accordance with the UPSEU collective bargaining agreementKey ResponsibilitiesPerform general maintenance and repairs involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building control, and related systemsComplete preventive maintenance and assigned work orders accurately and efficientlyMaintain district buildings, school grounds, and athletic fields using appropriate equipmentOperate and assist with computer-based building and energy-management systemsInterpret blueprints, manuals, diagrams, and operating proceduresAssess maintenance needs and respond appropriately to urgent or emergency situationsAssist with facility setups, equipment movement, and snow and ice removalCoordinate effectively with facilities staff, custodians, administrators, and outside tradespeopleMaintain safe, clean, and orderly work areas and follow established safety proceduresParticipate in rotating emergency coverage and remain available for after-hours call-insPerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school or trade school diploma requiredFive years of commercial building maintenance experience strongly preferredTrade license or certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, refrigeration, or another relevant field preferredBroad working knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, tools, and equipmentValid driver's license requiredAbility to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and prioritize assignmentsAbility to understand and follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to perform the physical requirements of the position, including walking, bending, climbing ladders and stairs, lifting, operating power equipment, and working in varying indoor and outdoor conditionsAvailability for overtime, emergency call-ins, rotating emergency coverage, and required snow- and ice-removal operationsInterested candidates should submit a cover letter, résumé, and contact information for three professional references.The Granby Board of Education is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.
