Special Education Instructional Aide

Job Title

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma (Some college classes leading to Associates Degree preferred.)

• Spanish speaking preferred.

• Experience teaching children.

• Knowledge of child development.

• Ability to adapt to changing situations.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work as a team member.

• Computer skills helpful.

• Excellent communication skills with staff, students, and parents.

Essential Functions (Duties):

• Willing to participate in training to use in classroom.

• Provide behavior and functional support to special education students.

• Provide general academic support in small group instruction; responsible for instruction under Student Support Specialist's supervision.

• Assist in general education settings

• Carry out the written objectives of a student's IEPC, with assistance.

• Carry out other duties, not specifically mentioned.
