Special Events & Marketing Assistant

The Mexic-Arte Museum, founded in 1984 by artists, is dedicated to enriching the community through educational programs and cultural exhibitions. Located in the heart of Austin, Texas, the museum presents works by established and emerging artists from the United States, Mexico, and Latin America. Each year, it attracts thousands of visitors of all ages. The museum continues to promote Mexican, Latino, and Latin American art and culture through its diverse and dynamic programming. Role Description: oThis is a part-time, seasonal on-site role for a Special Events & Marketing Assistant based in Austin, TX. The assistant will be responsible for supporting the Viva la Vida Dia de los Muertos event planning and management, assisting with marketing initiatives, providing administrative support, and ensuring excellent customer service during events. Daily tasks include coordinating event logistics, managing volunteer schedules, updating marketing materials, and maintaining database records and other aspects of the event specifically for Mexic-Arte's Annual Day of the Dead celebration, Viva la Vida Festival & Parade. Qualifications: Strong Communication and Customer Service skills Proficiency in Event Planning and Event Management Experience in Administrative Assistance Attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Previous experience in a museum or cultural institution is a plus Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, possible evening/weekend hours for events #J-18808-Ljbffr Mexic-Arte Museum
