Test Technician

Location: Elmhurst, IL
Pay: Up to $23/hour
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (Direct Hire Considered)

Are you an HVAC Technician, Refrigeration Technician, or mechanically inclined troubleshooter looking for a stable opportunity with long-term growth? We are seeking a Test Technician to join a growing manufacturing team responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and validating custom industrial cooling equipment before shipment.

This is a great opportunity for candidates with residential or commercial HVAC experience who want a clean, organized work environment without the demands of field service work.

• Conduct pressurized leak checks on completed equipment
• Pull vacuum systems and perform refrigerant charging
• Test and verify equipment performance prior to shipment
• Troubleshoot and diagnose refrigeration and mechanical issues as needed
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and piping schematics
• Assist with electrical wiring and component verification
• Ensure all products meet quality and performance standards
• Document testing results and communicate findings with production teams

• Residential or commercial HVAC experience
• Experience with refrigeration systems and troubleshooting
• Ability to read piping and electrical schematics
• Experience wiring basic electrical components
• Familiarity with brass fittings, copper tubing, and brazing
• EPA Certification is a plus

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently while supporting team goals
