Quality Inspector

Position Summary Responsible for first‑piece inspection, in‑process and final product inspections using open set‑up, CMM and other inspection methods in accordance with drawing requirements and specifications. Requires good communication skills and the ability to read and follow AMETEK work instructions and quality procedures. Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:00 AM – 03:30 PM Duties and Responsibilities Read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings using geometric dimensioning and tolerances including maximum material conditions; Inspect detail parts and assemblies per drawing requirements and specifications using standard measuring equipment; Prepare and maintain inspection reports; Program and/or operate Coordinate Measuring Machine; Perform hardness testing; Collect and tabulate data for SPC use; Review Supplier F.A.I.R./generate First Article Reports per AS9102; Other duties as directed by management. Required Skills and Abilities Basic computer knowledge including MS Excel and Word; Interpret drawing requirements/specs and geometric dimensions and tolerances; Familiar with MIL, NAS, MS, AMS, AWS and AS specifications and standards; PCDMIS programming skills; Familiar with special process specifications for heat treat, welding, and non‑destructive testing. Education and Experience High school graduate; 3–5 years of mechanical inspection, aerospace experience; Post‑high‑school education in math, engineering, inspection techniques or related fields is a plus. Equipment Used Vernier calipers; Micrometers; Height gauges; CMM machines; Other standard measuring tools and instruments. All Production Floor employees are required to wear steel‑toe boots.
