Staff Nurse (RN) - Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation## Department:University Hospital | 3 Dodd Hall, Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation**Scope of Position:** The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization, The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.**Position Summary:** The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.**Minimum Qualifications****For Hire:*** 2- year College Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program is **required.*** Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a major in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program is **preferred.*** Current Ohio license or interim permit **required.*** 2 years of experience in rehabilitation or acute care setting is **preferred.********On-going:** Maintains current Ohio RN license. Meets mandatory educational and health requirements. Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions.## Additional Information:The Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit on the third floor of Dodd Hospital provides comprehensive rehab care for individuals 16+ with brain injury, spinal cord injury, and oncology diagnoses. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team and maintains a strong focus on staff and patient safety, clinical excellence, and professional growth.
