Step into a key role with an expanding, highly reputable general aviation facility situated in the Denver metropolitan area. We service an active, high-tempo fleet of modern piston aircraft—including Cirrus, Cessna, and Beechcraft models—while aggressively building out capabilities in turboprop maintenance and electric aviation systems. As our facility advances toward a formal FAA Part 145 certification, we provide a collaborative, well-resourced hangar environment where experienced mechanics build real technical depth and move into leadership.

• Base Hourly Compensation: $32.00 – $42.00 / hour (Determined by your depth of GA piston, structural repair, and avionics troubleshooting experience).

• Relocation Support: Customized moving stipends and transit assistance are available to ensure a seamless relocation from Nevada to Colorado.

• Workplace Schedule Options: 40-hour work week with flexible scheduling, including 4x10 schedules (granting a permanent 3-day weekend) or traditional 5x8 options.

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance, this role keeps a high-cycle piston fleet flight-ready while expanding your hands-on expertise in advanced glass-cockpit integration and airframe structural modifications. This position is tailored for proactive, safety-conscious mechanics who value precise documentation and want a clear path toward crew lead or management roles.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled phase inspections and unscheduled line maintenance across a varied fleet of light general aviation airframes.

• Diagnose, isolate, and repair complex electrical faults and glass-cockpit avionics discrepancies using structured diagnostic methods.

• Authorize and execute 100-hour and annual airframe inspections in strict compliance with 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91.

• Assist in avionics modernization projects, including installing digital autopilots, GPS units, multi-function displays, and ADS-B systems.

• Apply maintenance manuals, Service Bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and engineering schematics to resolve mechanical issues.

• Execute light structural sheet metal work and airframe repairs as required by operational needs.

• Document all completed services, parts tracking, and airworthiness sign-offs promptly in the shop's digital records database.

• Participate in the shared on-call rotation for weekend coverage and rapid AOG line response.

• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with hangar safety standards.

Minimum Prerequisites

• Valid, active FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.

• At least 3 years of recent, active experience maintaining general aviation piston aircraft ( Cessna, Cirrus, Beechcraft , or direct equivalents).

• Verifiable track record of completing and signing off on 100-hour inspections.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and basic avionics packages.

• Firm understanding of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91 regulations.

• Must own a standard personal set of basic aviation hand tools (specialty tools supplied by the shop).

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform work in varied physical postures, and operate safely in an active hangar environment.

Preferred Attributes

• Active Inspection Authorization (IA) credential.

• Hands-on experience with modern glass-cockpit platforms ( Garmin G1000, Avidyne , or comparable suites).

• Background in airframe structural sheet metal work or composite repairs.

• Prior experience working on turboprop powerplants or high-cycle flight school fleets.

• Previous lead technician or supervisory experience.
