Manufacturing Production Manager - Electrical & Refrigeration

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Production Manager - Electrical & Refrigeration to lead a multidisciplinary team of 20+ technicians supporting mechanical assembly, electrical, refrigeration, fabrication, and product testing. This is a leadership and project management role rather than a hands-on technician position . The top priority is finding someone with strong experience leading teams, managing production schedules, maintaining accountability, and keeping multiple projects on track. Projects typically run 2-4 months , with individual procedures or phases averaging approximately one week . This individual will coordinate staffing, priorities, resources, timelines, and workflow to ensure projects meet quality, safety, and delivery expectations. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager will provide leadership and direction to production leads and technicians while overseeing the safe, effective, and efficient operation of multiple manufacturing departments. Key Responsibilities Production and Project Management Oversee the daily execution of production schedules across multiple manufacturing disciplines. Manage multiple custom-equipment projects with typical timelines of two to four months. Coordinate weekly project phases, staffing requirements, resources, priorities, and workflow. Monitor daily production progress against established project timelines, quality standards, and customer expectations. Identify and escalate issues before they become production bottlenecks. Navigate production exceptions while minimizing their effect on overall workflow and delivery schedules. Coordinate work between mechanical assembly, electrical, refrigeration, fabrication, and product-testing teams. Provide feedback and recommendations to improve production scheduling, efficiency, and accuracy. Lead, supervise, coach, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of more than 20 technicians and production leads. Set clear expectations and maintain accountability for safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and performance. Ensure employees have the tools, training, resources, and support needed to meet production goals. Conduct regular team and project meetings to review priorities, progress, risks, and upcoming deadlines. Promote a collaborative, quality-focused, and results-driven work environment. Develop employees and prepare high-performing team members for increased responsibilities. Safety and Quality Champion compliance with workplace safety requirements and established quality standards. Participate in safety meetings and reinforce accountability across all departments. Build quality into manufacturing processes to reduce inspection requirements and end-of-line rework. Partner with quality personnel to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Lead continuous-improvement initiatives focused on quality, production flow, throughput, and cost reduction. Implement and reinforce Lean manufacturing practices, including 5S and visual management. Identify opportunities to eliminate waste, improve workflow, and reduce production delays. Develop and use performance metrics to improve transparency and accountability on the production floor. Use production data to improve processes, training, staffing, and resource allocation. Engineering and Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with engineering to ensure products are designed for manufacturability. Provide input regarding bills of materials, product design changes, manufacturing processes, and cost-saving opportunities. Serve as a liaison between engineering, quality, and manufacturing. Improve communication and handoffs between fabrication, mechanical assembly, electrical, refrigeration, and testing work centers. Training and Staff Development Develop and implement training programs that strengthen employee skills and production capabilities. Identify skill gaps and establish plans for cross-training and professional development. Promote the consistent use of manufacturing best practices across all departments. Required Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years of production management, manufacturing supervision, or similar leadership experience . Proven experience leading large production teams, preferably 20 or more employees . Experience managing production schedules, staffing, workflow, and accountability across multiple departments. Experience with industrial equipment manufacturing, including custom or engineer-to-order products. Proven ability to manage complex, long-term manufacturing projects with multiple phases and logistical requirements. Experience implementing continuous-improvement practices such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, or visual management. Strong understanding of production scheduling, workflow, quality, safety, and bottleneck management. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to succeed in a fast-paced and changing manufacturing environment. Must be authorized to work permanently in the United States without current or future sponsorship. Preferred Experience Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams involving electrical, refrigeration, mechanical assembly, fabrication, or equipment testing . Experience managing custom equipment builds lasting several weeks or months. Familiarity with electrical controls and commercial or industrial refrigeration systems. Experience working with engineering teams on BOMs, manufacturability, and product-design improvements. Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related continuous-improvement certification.
