Maintenance Machinist

Pay: $22.00–$32.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time | Onsite | Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: 40-hour workweek | Overtime opportunities | Day and Night Shift Available

Southwark Metal Manufacturing Company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Machinist / Tool & Die Maker to join our Philadelphia Division. In this hands-on, onsite position , you’ll use manual and automated equipment to produce, maintain, sharpen, and repair precision parts and die tooling.

What You’ll Do

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, samples, schematics, and work instructions to determine job specifications.
• Plan the sequence of operations needed to complete machining and repair jobs efficiently.
• Measure and mark materials accurately for cutting, machining, or shaping.
• Set up and operate a variety of manual, semi-automated, and automated machines, including lathes, grinders, and related equipment.
• Produce and repair precision components to required specifications.
• Perform die tooling, sharpening, and repair .
• Use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers and other inspection tools, to verify dimensions.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and make minor repairs as needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Work independently while following established procedures and instructions.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Machinist, Tool & Die Maker, Maintenance Machinist, or similar role .
• Experience operating and/or programming manual, semi-automated, or automated machine tools.
• Experience with equipment such as lathes, grinders, and related machining equipment .
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and accurate measurement techniques.
• Strong mathematical, mechanical, and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to follow directions.
• Ability to safely handle and lift heavy materials and perform the physical requirements of the position.
• Must be available to work any shift.
• This is an onsite position at our Philadelphia facility.
