The Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector PS&C Facility - located in Elkton, MD - has an immediate need for an Operations Project Manager (OPM). The OPM must be a self-starter, self-motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced environment. Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Experience panoramic views from Turkey Point Lighthouse on a bluff overlooking the Bay, or from the banks of the C&D Canal where ships from around the globe cruise.Primary job responsibilities of a Senior Principal OPM include:Managing and maintaining the day-to-day interfaces and communications between the assigned Program Management Office (PMO), Manufacturing, Testing, Manufacturing Planning & Scheduling, Mission Assurance (MA), Supply Chain (SCM), Engineering, and ShippingCoordinating efforts of multiple OPMs to ensure manufacturing deliverables are on track for cost and schedule across multiple programs or on a large complex program requiring extensive resource coordinationProvide direction and mentorship of junior OPMsFacilitating internal meetings in a way to support production, testing, and problem resolutions in support of program needsResponsible for the successful execution of the operations/manufacturing scope of the program's statement of work (SOW), achieving targeted cost and schedule requirementsLead manufacturing planning and readiness effortsAct as the focal point for manufacturing input into proposals to capture new businessSupport bill of material (BOM) development on development programsSupport continuous improvement by identifying opportunities and executing improvement plansCommunicate relevant manufacturing metrics to the PMOAct as Cost Account Manager (CAM) for manufacturing on a programProgram closeout support and hardware dispositionThis is an individual contributor role and not a manager role. Basic Qualifications for a Level 4 - Senior Principal OPM:This position emphasizes skills and experience. Will consider high school diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least 12 years of project management relevant experience, bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant work experience or 6 years of relevant work experience with a master's degreeThe candidate must have experience in leadership and project managementAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD U.S. Secret Clearance per business requirements (US citizenship required)Experience with Costpoint, SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and Power PointPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Engineering or Business ManagementExperience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvementManufacturing or Engineering experienceExperience with bases of estimates, shop order creation, and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)Active DoD U.S. Secret clearancePrimary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
