Safety Engineer

Discovery builds deadline-driven products used by teams worldwide, and we need a Safety Engineer to push our platform to the next level. The center of gravity here is ownership — $64,000 - $99,000 and a remote schedule orbit it, and 1 years gets you in the door. Key Responsibilities Document technical decisions, architecture, and APIs for the broader org Backfill Node.js test coverage on the riskiest corners of Discovery's codebase Turn Discovery's Linux on-call noise into alerts that actually mean something Optimize application performance, latency, and resource utilization at scale Own the employee-centric edge cases in Discovery's Empathy billing nobody else wants to touch What You'll Bring Sound instincts for reading a room you've never been in before Ability to learn new technology systems quickly and apply them effectively Hands-on proficiency with Linux, ideally paired with Networking The patience to mentor without taking over the keyboard Willingness to commute to Palmdale, CA or work flexibly as needed The discipline to document while it's fresh, not after it's forgotten The solutions-focused team behind Discovery chose Palmdale on purpose, betting that great technology work doesn't need a coastal zip code. Around here, "I don't know yet" is a perfectly respectable sentence and often the start of something good. The headline reads $64,000 - $99,000; the fine print is all upside, mentorship, benefits, and freedom to grow your Kubernetes. #J-18808-Ljbffr
