About the Position

Job Title: Surgical Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: OR Tech / Surgical Tech Duration: 17 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum two years of scrub experience required. License: BLS required. Certifications: CST preferred. Must-Have: Successfully completed a surgical technologist program or equivalent experience may be considered. Description: Day/evening shifts available, working 24 hours/week. Shifts are 12 hours, from 06:40 to 19:10. This position requires working every Saturday and Sunday with no call. If a holiday falls on a weekend, the individual will work that holiday. The role involves performing ortho, neuro, spine, and general cases. Minimum two years of scrub experience is required. BLS certification must be from the American Heart Association. The surgical technologist prepares the operating room prior to surgery. They promote the safety of the patient during surgery. The surgical technologist provides assistance to the surgeon during surgery. They also care for instruments and supplies used in surgery. This position requires knowledge and skills to assist in caring for patients of all age groups. The facility performs a variety of surgical cases including trauma and emergency surgeries. The surgical technologist must demonstrate proficiency in a range of surgical procedures. They must adhere to safety protocols and handle surgical instruments effectively. Floating between departments may be required as needed. Travelers must have experience within acute care. The position requires compliance with strict testing and passing criteria. Exam failures may result in the cancellation of the assignment. Candidates should be able to demonstrate successful completion of any required exams.
