Part-time Psychiatric Position for MMC Partial Hospital Program

Summary: Munson Healthcare and the Behavioral Health team are seeking a BE/BC physician to join our Partial Hospital Program (PHP) team to serve as the attending provider. This position works in a team-based model of the PHP which is available Monday – Friday during the day.  In addition to the psychiatrist, the PHP team includes nursing, therapists, and administrative support.  The program serves 8-10 patients per day.    

The psychiatrist will be a member of the MHC psychiatry department and as such, will participate in the call rotation that covers the hospital and inpatient psychiatric unit. Call is home call covering admissions and cross-coverage. Residents perform CMS required face-to-face evaluations overnight, so it is rare to be called into the hospital. Typical call shifts are 2-4 per month.

In addition to inpatient and consultation services, MMC has an Outpatient clinic with a robust array of outpatient behavioral health services for mental illness and substance use disorder, a Partial Hospital Program, and a walk-in crisis center and psychiatric urgent care with plans to open an adult and separate pediatric Crisis Residential unit in the next 6-8 months.

Standard Qualifications:

• Board certified or board eligible physician.
• MI license or eligible for medication licensure in the State of Michigan
