Job Description & Requirements

• Evaluate and treat patients of all ages, designing and implementing individualized care plans.
• Perform patient transfers safely, utilizing proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers using effective teaching methods.
• Conduct examinations using reliable and valid methods to determine therapy needs and outcomes.
• Screen patients to assess the need for therapy services and adjust care based on patient response and evidence.
• Document evaluations, treatment plans, and patient progress per department policies.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the medical team throughout the rehabilitation process, providing education and training as needed.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and rehabilitation technicians in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Communicate patient performance, status changes, and discharge recommendations to the medical team.
• Utilize standardized outcome measures to ensure accurate reflection of functional performance.
