Claims Adjuster

Title: Sr Claims Adjuster [New York Labor Law (NYLL)] Duration: 6-month contract to hire Location: REMOTE Pay Rate: $40-$47/hr Requirements: 3+ years of New York Labor Law (NYLL) claims experience. Experience with complex Bodily Injury claims. Strong litigation experience, including coverage analysis, tender requests, and managing attorney-represented files. Active NY Adjuster's License. Strong negotiation skills and ability to interpret claim documentation. Ability to manage a desk with 125 claims. Plusses: Experience working for a 3rd Party Administrator Additional licenses Experience working with Mid-Market companies Insight Global is seeking a Sr Claims Adjuster to support an established 3rd Party Administrator company out of Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for independently investigating, evaluating, and resolving the most complex and high-exposure claims with minimal supervision. This includes determining coverage, assessing liability and damages, and setting appropriate reserves. You will manage claims with the settlement authority typically up to $10,000 for liability and $25,000 or more for workers’ compensation. Responsibilities: Analyzes coverage and settles moderately complex claims in one or more of specialty claims areas. Generally, incumbent does not work on workers compensation claims. Able to manage the full-life cycle of all assigned claims files. Analyzes coverage and determines defense obligations. Under minimal supervision, conducts thorough analysis and investigations necessary to determine claims exposure and recommends appropriate settlement strategies and action plans. Creates reservation of rights and coverage denial letters. Negotiates settlements with clients, client attorneys, and Public Adjusters. Interacts extensively with various parties involved in the claims process and may recommend retaining the advice of outside experts as necessary. Prepares reserve and settlement authority requests for client and carrier approval. May act as a client advocate with carriers to ensure proper claims handling, including any necessary scoping, estimating, and addressing of coverage. Has a solid understanding of claims processing and the insurance brokerage business. Has a basic understanding of the terminology and case law associated with their specialized claims niche/industry. Handles claims consistent with clients' and corporate policies, procedures and best practices and also in accordance with any statutory, regulatory and ethical requirements.
