What You'll Do

• Provide inpatient care on a stepdown/medical-surgical unit with patient ratios of 1:3 (RN) and 1:9 (CNA)
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and conduct assessments for patients with conditions like CVA/TIA, post-surgical spinal patients, and overflow from stepdown units (e.g., AFIB/RVR, DKA, COPD)
• Administer titratable medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (manager approval required for experience in these)
• Manage devices including chest tubes, tracheostomies, and lumbar drains (preferred experience)
• Support the healthcare team with tasks such as charting, medication administration, and patient care coordination
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including RT, hospitalists, OT, PT, and speech therapy
• Maintain documentation in Meditech Expanse EMR and ensure safe patient monitoring

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam

• Experience managing chest tubes, trachs, and peritoneal dialysis
• Familiarity with titratable medication administration and telemetry monitoring
