Physical Therapy AssistantThe Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) plays a critical role in supporting licensed Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services to patients recovering from injury, surgery, or managing chronic conditions. This position involves implementing treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, assisting patients with therapeutic exercises, and monitoring their progress to ensure optimal recovery outcomes. The PTA will work closely with patients to provide hands-on care, educate them on proper techniques, and promote safe practices in accordance with universal precautions. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with healthcare teams and adherence to voluntary insurance program guidelines to facilitate patient access to necessary services. Ultimately, the PTA contributes significantly to improving patients' mobility, reducing pain, and enhancing their overall quality of life within the Queen City Cincinnati community.Assist Physical Therapists in executing individualized treatment plans for patients undergoing rehabilitation.Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, flexibility, and functional mobility.Monitor and document patient responses to therapy, reporting progress and any concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment by following universal precautions and infection control protocols.Coordinate with healthcare providers and insurance programs to ensure compliance with voluntary insurance requirements and facilitate patient care.Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.Basic knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and physical therapy modalities.Understanding and application of universal precautions and infection control standards.Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.Experience working in outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation settings.Familiarity with voluntary insurance programs and billing procedures related to physical therapy services.Additional certifications in specialized therapy techniques or modalities.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple patients efficiently.Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.The required skills such as knowledge of physical therapy principles and rehabilitation techniques are essential for safely assisting patients through their recovery process and ensuring adherence to treatment plans. Familiarity with universal precautions is critical to maintaining a hygienic and safe environment for both patients and staff, preventing infection and cross-contamination. Understanding voluntary insurance programs helps the PTA navigate administrative aspects, ensuring patients receive appropriate coverage and services without interruption. Effective communication skills enable the PTA to educate patients on exercises and safety measures, fostering patient engagement and compliance.
