Title: PLC Engineer
Location: Waukesha, WI
Salary Range: $90K $100K/Year

Job Summary

Seeking a PLC/Controls Engineer with 3+ years of experience in PLC programming, test systems, troubleshooting, and manufacturing controls. The ideal candidate will support plant test equipment, electrical systems, continuous improvement, and controls projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, troubleshoot, and support PLC, HMI, test equipment, and electrical systems.
• Develop testing procedures, equipment specifications, and safety requirements.
• Program and troubleshoot Rockwell PLCs and FactoryTalk systems.
• Perform root cause/failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Lead controls/test engineering projects, equipment selection, and capital projects.
• Drive Lean/Six Sigma, cost reduction, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, EHS, Maintenance, Engineering, suppliers, and contractors.
• Support MOC and change management activities.
  
  
  
  

Required Skills

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or related field.
• 3+ years of Controls/Test Engineering experience.
• Rockwell: RSLogix 5/500/5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME/SE.
• PLC, HMI, and safety systems programming.
• VB6/Visual Studio, SQL, Microsoft applications.
• NI LabVIEW and TestStand.
• Project management experience.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  
  
  
  

Preferred

• 5+ years of Controls/Test Engineering experience.
• Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
• Experience with electrical testing procedures and manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of 8D, PFMEA, A3, Pareto, control charts, and RCA.
