Process Simulation Product/Feature Owner – Full‑time – Lake Forest, CA / Houston, TX / Philadelphia, PA – Salary range: $142,100.00 to $271,300.00 AVEVA is creating software trusted by over 90% of leading industrial companies. As a Process Simulation Product Owner and Domain Architect you will serve as the primary domain expert for AVEVA’s Process Simulation platform, shaping the future of our software through deep industry knowledge and process simulation experience. Key Responsibilities Translate customer needs and unmet industrial requirements into clearly defined feature specifications, validated and prioritized based on business value, cost, team dependencies, and alignment with product strategy. Serve as the primary domain expert and go‑to authority for process‑simulation workflows, engineering practices, and industry use cases. Define and document detailed requirements for new features and capabilities, grounded in real‑world customer needs. Lead cross‑functional teams of architects and developers through design and development of new features, providing direction, decision‑making, and domain expertise. Maintain an understanding of the product’s high‑level architecture and thermodynamic concepts to ensure domain requirements align with broader platform direction. Demonstrate developments and sprint outputs to customers and stakeholders, embracing feedback to improve quality and value. Collaborate with other architects to address non‑functional requirements such as reliability, scalability, and security. Essential Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Experience 7+ years of experience in the process industry (chemical, petrochemical, refining, or related sectors). Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering (MS preferred). Recognized domain expert in process‑engineering workflows and able to coach others on complex issues. Deep understanding of process‑simulation workflows, engineering practices, and industry use cases. Experience with commercial process‑simulation tools (e.g., AVEVA Process Simulation, Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, or similar). Familiarity with thermodynamic concepts and their relation to product architecture. Proven ability to translate customer needs into feature specifications and requirements documentation. Experience leading or collaborating with cross‑functional teams through feature design and delivery. Strong written, verbal, presentation, and graphical communication skills. Excellent collaboration skills and willingness to work with dispersed teams across time zones. Excellent analysis and dissemination skills; high personal motivation and self‑management. Python coding ability; comfortable with coding tools. Desired: C#, scripting, C++ skills. Experience with Agile software development and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) desirable.
