Health Aide

Health Aide
To assist the students, families and staff within SPEED School District #802 in attaining and maintaining optimum health goals.
Qualifications:
- Illinois Paraprofessional License ELS(PARA)
- Certified Nurses Assistant License (CNA).
- Assist nursing staff in their daily duties
- First aid to students
- Commitment to the transdisciplinary team process.
- Ability to physically manage students with assistance, when needed.
- Ability to relate to and work with students with special needs who may present a variety of disabilities.
- Complete all necessary and required paperwork, Nursing & clerical skills required.
Preferred:
- Experience in a public school setting/classroom based setting.
- Experience with individuals with disabilities.
- Experience with families and family education.
- Participation in continuous professional growth.
Job Goals:
- To design, coordinate and facilitate the medical/health management issues in cooperation with team members for children and families.
Percent of Time in Special Education: 100%
Supervised By: Program Principal
Terms of Employment: 180 Days
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the SPEED Governing Board and the SPEED Collective Bargaining Agreement.
