Job Requisition #:035487 Account Manager (Open)Job Description:Account Manager Outside Sales – New Business DevelopmentLocation: Remote | Local presence near Wright City or St. Louis, MissouriTerritory: Wright City and Kansas City, MissouriTravel: Frequent local travel with some overnight travelAlthough this is a remote role, local presence matters. Candidates should reside within or near the assigned territory and be comfortable with frequent travel to meet customers and prospects.Greif is expanding our sales team and seeking a driven Outside Sales Representative – Business Development to grow our presence across the Wright City and Kansas City territory.This role is ideal for a true sales hunter who enjoys prospecting, getting in front of customers, opening new doors, and turning opportunities into long-term business relationships. The primary focus will be winning new business and securing new logos, while also developing and growing customer relationships within the territory. This position is eligible for participation in the company's sales compensation and automobile plan.What You’ll DoBuild and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects and new business opportunities.Prospect, identify, pursue, and secure new customers throughout the assigned territory.Develop strategic account plans to grow revenue, volume, margin, and market share.Build relationships with decision-makers across purchasing, operations, and leadership.Prepare, present, and negotiate proposals, pricing, and commercial agreements.Manage opportunities and sales activity through CRM, including pipeline and forecasting.Conduct customer visits, plant tours, product trials, and technical consultations to help move opportunities forward.Partner with Customer Service, Operations, Supply Chain, and other internal teams to deliver a strong customer experience.Maintain and grow existing relationships while identifying opportunities for additional business.Address customer service, quality, or delivery concerns in partnership with internal teams.What We’re Looking ForHunter mentality with a demonstrated ability to identify, pursue, and win new business.Typically 4–8 years of outside sales, business development, or account management experience.Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and business development goals.Comfortable with frequent local travel and some overnight travel.Strong prospecting, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a territory-based sales environment.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand pricing, profitability, and customer needs.Experience using CRM systems to manage prospects, opportunities, and forecasts.Industrial packaging, manufacturing, distribution, or related B2B sales experience is a plus.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Why This Role MattersThis is an opportunity to directly impact Greif's growth by opening new doors, building new customer relationships, and expanding our market presence. Typically, a competitive range for new hires will fall between $130,000 – $160,000.
