Child Care Center Assistant CookBring your cooking talents and kitchen management skills as an Assistant Cook. You’ll plan menus, prepare meals, and order inventory as you make a real difference in the lives of children, families, and staff.This position offers a schedule of 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, at our Ochsner Early Learning Center. This role includes approximately 20 hours per week supporting kitchen operations and 20 hours per week teaching and engaging with children in the classroom.Responsibilities:Plan and prepare nutritionally balanced meals for children and staff.Keep an accurate inventory of supplies and place orders as needed.Manage all aspects of prepping and preparing meals, as well as cleaning and complying with sanitation requirements.Qualifications:Candidates must pass required state and company background checks, and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements:At least 18 years of age with a high school degree or GED requiredRelevant experience working in a licensed child care center, public school, or commercial kitchen is requiredFood Handlers permit or ServSafe certification according to state/local regulations requiredJoin us to create a safe, nurturing environment that supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth.
