About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Palliative Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience required License: Valid compact or state license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: EPIC experience required Description: Palliative care focuses on providing relief from the side effects of serious illness. This unit will provide some patients with end-of-life comfort care while also offering symptom management for patients still undergoing treatment. Common issues managed in this specialty include uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and fatigue, all aimed to improve quality of life. New travelers will float to inpatient units until their training is complete prior to the unit opening. This experience will allow travelers to engage with various patient populations that will be seen once the unit is operational. Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of RN experience. BLS certification is required as well as the ability to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Previous travel experience is preferred. Candidates should expect possible scheduling for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on departmental needs. Shift assignments will be reviewed every four-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed. Please ensure compliance with any credentialing processes as needed. References will be required from professional sources. Education must be from an accredited nursing program.
