Job Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, encompassing physical exams and comprehensive medical history evaluations
- Assist in diagnosing surgical conditions through the interpretation of lab results and imaging studies
- Partner with surgeons to formulate and implement tailored surgical treatment plans
- Provide essential intraoperative support by preparing surgical environments, ensuring optimal patient positioning, and managing surgical instruments
- Deliver outstanding pre-operative and post-operative care, including administering medications, managing wound care, planning discharges, and offering patient education
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Completion of clinical rotations with a focus on surgical practices is highly preferred
- Current and unrestricted PA-C certification
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
- Strong foundation in surgical principles and sterile techniques
- Demonstrated ability to interpret diagnostic testing and engage in important clinical decisions
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
- Aptitude to excel in high-pressure environments, particularly during surgical cases
