Travel Cardiovascular Technologist OR - CVOR Tech Job

Overview
Cardiovascular Technologist (OR – CVOR Tech) position in Herrin, Illinois. This travel assignment begins 06/22/2026 for 13 weeks with a guaranteed 36 hours per week on a 4x10 rotating shift. Weekly pay ranges from $2,007 to $2,187. Work setting is a hospital operating room focused on cardiovascular procedures; includes monthly call requirements.

Responsibilities
- Assist in transportation and positioning of patients; prepare room for planned surgical procedures
- Assemble and dismantle tables and instruments; open sterile supplies and set up for procedures
- Prepare skin, drape the surgical field, and assist the surgeon with gowning and gloving
- Pass instruments and sutures; assist in maintaining correct counts of instruments, sutures, and sponges
- Decontaminate instruments and restock supplies; aid in efficient OR turnover for subsequent cases
- Support call coverage requirements: approximately one weeknight and two weekend days per month

Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification/Experience: Non-certified pathway — graduate of an ARC/STSA-accredited OR technician program or on-the-job training; military experience as technician or LPN; dental/ophthalmology/medical assistant experience may be acceptable. Certified pathway — NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist or NCCT Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
- Experience: 6 months of OR technician experience or specialized training
- Licensure: See Certification note above; ability to work in an operating room environment and follow sterile technique
