DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position guides nursing and public health staff to ensure high quality services that support the mission of the Bureau of Community Health Systems. It plays a key role in strengthening the workforce and improving community health efforts statewide. As a Community Health Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Staff Supervision: Oversee a public health educator and population health nurses to support consistent and effective service delivery
- Program Leadership: Plan and evaluate public health activities, emergency responses, and outreach efforts
- Training Development: Design, conduct, and assess training for nursing and public health support staff
- Clinical Instruction: Teach public health fundamentals and provide follow-up coaching to strengthen clinical skills
- Policy Implementation: Participate in shaping and applying guidelines that influence nursing practice and service quality
- Workforce Support: Review required certifications, education needs, and documentation to maintain staff competency

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Weekend and after-hours assignments are required as needed.
- Headquarters: The location will be determined by the selected candidate and can be at any of the state health centers.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the selected headquarters office. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years as a Community Health Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of community health nursing experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
