Payroll Coordinator
Our staffing firm is partnering with a valued client to identify an experienced Payroll Coordinator for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role is responsible for supporting employee timekeeping activities, ensuring accurate payroll-related data, and providing outstanding customer service to employees across multiple business units and time zones. Candidates with previous payroll experience are required, and union payroll or union construction experience is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, review, and validate employee time entries to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies
- Follow up with employees and managers regarding missing, late, or inaccurate timesheets and resolve discrepancies before payroll deadlines
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions related to timekeeping systems, payroll processes, and time entry issues
- Prepare, audit, and submit timekeeping reports to payroll each pay period to support accurate and timely compensation
- Collaborate with payroll, operations, and business leaders while maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information
Qualifications & Requirements
- At least 1 year of previous payroll and timekeeping experience required
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across a variety of personalities and communication styles
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail; able to prioritize competing deadlines and deliver accurate results with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, fully remote environment while adapting to changing priorities, business units, and systems
- Union payroll or union construction experience preferred, including familiarity with job costing, work orders, projects, or labor hours tied to specific jobs
- EST or CST candidates strongly preferred to support payroll operations and employee needs across the organization.
Pay Details: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour
