About the Position

Job Title: PACU RN - Inpatient Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - Level 1 trauma experience - Telemetry experience - Pre/Post Cath lab procedures experience - Pre/Post IR procedures experience Description: The PACU RN is responsible for providing care to patients recovering from surgery. Candidates must have experience in a Level 1 trauma center and telemetry. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2 in the PACU. The position may require floating to the holding area in the PACU department. In the holding area, the ratio can be 1:3-5. The nurse will be required to assess and manage patients who are ventilated. Dysrhythmia recognition and management are important skills for this role. The clinician should be comfortable with phase II recovery procedures. The PACU RN will also participate in the management of pediatric patients as needed. One weekend shift per month is required. There may be on-call requirements of 1-2 overnight shifts monthly. Candidates should be open to providing care in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain composure under pressure is essential. Documentation will be conducted using an electronic charting system. All candidates must be willing to comply with health and safety protocols.
