MA has a duty of care to provide a safe workplace to our Employees; and this important responsibility ultimately falls to the General Manager.The General Manager is responsible for implementation and adherence to MA Safety, Security, Quality, and Training policies and SOPs as well as local, state, Federal regulations and all station operations, service delivery.The role requires a seasoned senior manager with a strong operational and business understanding and leadership skills. The incumbent must have the ability to run a business in a challenging environment, whilst maintaining strict Menzies Corporate Governance and Financial guidelines.Key ResponsibilitiesFully responsible for the safety and well-being of MA staff; promoting a Safety-First culture; and managing all other aspects of running the stationFully responsible for implementation and adherence to MA Safety, Security, Quality, and Training policies and SOPs as well as all relevant industry, local, state, Provincial (CAN), and Federal regulations.Leads and collaborates with the senior team to maintain and enhance appropriate, effective safety and security systems, risk assessments, periodical inspections and audits, operational training programs, planning, operational processes, and service deliveryLeads by example and provides immediate and direct feedback to Employees and colleagues.Ensures a system for the effective delivery of safety-related briefings and the cascade of safety-related bulletins, alerts, and information.Participates in the development of station-level budgets.Ensures the means for proper staffing, planning, and scheduling are in place.Ensures that processes are sufficient to ensure inventory and accounting for all Company assets, consumable parts, contracted services, and vendor payments.Fully accountable for the financial performance and compliance with Corporate Governance and Legal aspects of Menzies' businesses in the station.Regularly interacts with customers to promote the station and to measure the level of customer satisfactionUses customer feedback to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes.Pursues opportunities for new business and growth of existing services.Ensures the development and implementation of the station Emergency Response Plan (ERP), Emergency Action Plan (EAP), Local Contingency Plan (LCP), Business Continuity Plan (BCP), Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plan (SPCC), Facility Response Plan (FRP), Environmental Emergency Response Plan (EERP), and/or Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).Assigns/delegates a Safety, Security, & Compliance Manager/Officer the responsibility for overseeing the implementation of the Menzies Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) and Health & Safety manual (H&S) policies at the base.Appoints a Principle Manager for all matters relating to Security at the station per the MA Security Manual (SeMS).Assigns a primary delegate ensuring compliance with the Menzies Aviation Quality Assurance Manual (QAM).Assigns a primary delegate ensuring compliance with the Menzies Aviation Environmental Management System (EMS).Ensures that processes are in place to provide for the acquisition, maintenance, and safe operation of GSE equipment and vehicles.Assists in the investigation of accidents, injuries, and near misses and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations. Will also evaluate root causes and recommend corrective action; and ensure that corrective actions are implemented and sustained.Ensures proper administration of the Workers' Compensation Program (Reed Group in CAN), to include timely reporting, Employee follow-up, and aggressive Return-to-Work promotion.Leads and motivates hard working teams to deliver excellent quality and productivityDirects and motivates Managers to achieve agreed targetsReviews leading and lagging indicators of Safety and Operational performance (i.e.: SMART targets, MORSE Dashboards, Audit Findings, Recordable Injuries, Training Completion Reports; Workers Compensation (WC) Rates and Costs; AC Damage Rates and Costs; GSE Damage Rates and Costs; Preventive Maintenance Completion Rates; SmartDrive Coaching Completion Rates; SmartDrive Safety Score; Delay Reports; etc.).Conducts routine (weekly) Staff MeetingsCompletes the Manager's Self-Certifications and other Workplace Inspections (as required)Performs routine Performance Appraisals of direct reports and provides constructive feedback for career planning, professional growth, and opportunities for improvement.Establishes Reward and Recognition programs promoting Safe Behaviors, Procedural Compliance, and Extraordinary Performance.Ensures the firm, fair, and consistent accountability for compliance with MA work rules and policiesQualificationsBachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceExcellent leadership and people management skillsExperience in business development, sales and commercial negotiation & pricingWide ranging general management experience, with some years of senior management experienceExtensive management and/or support service experience, preferably in an into plane fueling or ground equipment fueling environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skills balanced with a high level of confidence to influence and present at all levelsInterpersonal skills: Independence, decisiveness and the ability to work accurately and independent of immediate supportAble to influence, engage and motivate at all levelsFlexible, determined to succeed and self-motivatedAll applicants must hold requisite employment authority to work in the USAMust be at least 18 years of ageMust pass pre-employment drug screenPossess and maintain current valid US driver's licenseAbility to proficiently read, write and speak EnglishAble to remain calm under pressureMust be comfortable lifting 70lbsMust pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs sealMust be available and flexible to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidaysKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesProficiency in desktop computing applications including (but not limited to) Microsoft suite of products including MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, Office 365Ability to learn quicklyAbility to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when neededStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to work as part of a teamAbility to build relationshipsBenefitsSalary (exempt)Advancement OpportunitiesHealth, Dental, Vision, 401KLife and Short-Term Disability InsurancePaid VacationSalary range: $85,000 to $85,000 Annually Working ConditionsThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
