Job Title:Mobile TechnicianDepartment:MaintenanceCountry:United States of AmericaState/Province:TexasCity:ConverseFull/Part Time:Full timeJob Summary:Under close supervision, this position is responsible for performing basic services of our tractors, trailers, chassis, containers, and power equipment at a customer site or rail yard using a mobile service truck. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.Job Description:Key Responsibilities:Properly document damage to company equipment to allow subrogation of repair costsPerform CSA inspections with guidance of a certified technician as neededOperate assigned service truck in a professional manner and according to company requirements; keep unit clean and well stockedPerform minor repairs on chassis, frames, brackets, etc.With guidance, perform basic preventive maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to, tire replacements/flat repairs, brake adjustments/services/replacements, electrical diagnostics, basic structural repairs on trailer chassis, sub-frames, etc.Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established proceduresFollow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yardQualifications:Minimum Qualifications:18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiencesPossess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelinesAble to supply your own basic tools or purchase through our toolbox purchase programWillingness to work outdoors in the elementsAble to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if neededPreferred Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED equivalent with up to 1 year of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalentForklift certification and experienceAbility to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediumsAbility to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamProficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectivelyAbility to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.Compensation:Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
