TalentFish is casting a line for a Patient Services / Radiology Scheduling Specialist with our premier healthcare client in Arlington, VA. This is an onsite contract position supporting a high-volume outpatient Radiology scheduling department. This role has strong probability of extended duration OR full-time permanent hire. The primary responsibility of the Radiology Scheduling Specialist is to accurately process and enter 150200 physician imaging orders received daily via fax into the scheduling system. Exceptional attention to detail is essential, as errors in transcription or order entry can result in incorrectly scheduled procedures, insurance authorization issues, delays in patient care, and potential patient safety concerns.

Ideal Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Radiology scheduling experience, ideally scheduling outpatient imaging procedures such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-Ray, Mammography, or other Radiology modalities.
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred, or experience with another hospital scheduling system.
• Experience with patient registration and insurance verification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to accurately review and interpret physician imaging orders.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong keyboarding/data entry accuracy, and the ability to process a high volume of work without sacrificing quality.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.

Skills Used In This Position

• Accurately process and transfer 150200 physician imaging orders received via fax each day into the scheduling system.
• Review physician imaging orders for completeness and accuracy before scheduling appointments.
• Schedule outpatient Radiology procedures including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-Ray, Mammography, and other imaging modalities.
• Verify patient demographics, complete patient registration, and perform insurance verification prior to scheduling.
• Coordinate with physician offices, patients, and internal departments regarding scheduling, registration, appointment preparation, and follow-up.
• Maintain accurate documentation within Epic and other scheduling systems.
• Ensure appointments are scheduled correctly to support timely patient care and insurance requirements.
• Deliver outstanding customer service while working in a collaborative, high-volume scheduling environment.

Compensation and Employment This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship. The expected hourly rate for this position is $22 - $24 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This role qualifies for benefits such as paid time off and optional health insurance.
