Maintenance Planner Job Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate industrial maintenance work including labor, materials, tools, parts, and equipment
• Create detailed maintenance work orders with clear job instructions, scope, and safety requirements
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with operations and production teams to minimize equipment downtime
• Maintain and update the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
• Track equipment history, maintenance records, work orders, and equipment performance
• Ensure parts, materials, tools, and labor are available before scheduled maintenance work begins
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance (PM) schedules
• Monitor maintenance KPIs including downtime, PM compliance, MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and production uptime
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives
• Verify and audit work orders for effectiveness, accuracy, and completion
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with company safety policies and applicable regulations
• Collaborate with the buyer and parts clerk to ensure preventive maintenance work is properly planned, completed, and closed
• Build and maintain the annual preventive maintenance plan for budgeting and weekly maintenance execution
• Work closely with maintenance, operations, production, purchasing, and parts teams to coordinate maintenance activities

Maintenance Planner Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of maintenance planning or industrial maintenance experience
• Experience with CMMS software such as SAP, Maximo, Fiix, or similar systems
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance
• Knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance and reliability practices
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation
• Strong organizational, planning, scheduling, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Strong analytical and time-management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance projects and work orders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Schedule

• Monday-Friday
• Peak operational hours: 7:00 AM-5:00 PM
