About the Role The field‑based Regional Sales Director (Screening Team) leads a team of Account Executives within a designated region. The RSD is responsible for the promotion of Shield™ to general practice providers and their practices, recruiting, hiring, coaching, and developing the sales force, and driving the launch and market adoption of Shield™. Responsibilities Prospect and target regions for early adopters and generate Shield™ adoption. Identify, secure, and manage laboratory service draw agreements with national, regional, and local partners. Build relationships and advocacy with key thought leaders and decision makers in the assigned region. Recruit, select, and lead 8–12 direct reports and provide effective coaching, development, and performance management. Drive sales performance through coaching, motivation, clear expectations, and continuous development. Manage regional sales targets, report progress, and forecast quarterly and annual goals. Ensure effective use of sales processes, product marketing, and promotion materials by the regional sales force. Model and share best practices nationally. Recruit for vacated territories and manage open territories as needed. Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan including budgets, travel, territory management, and goal setting. Collect customer insights, market trends, and competitive data; communicate findings to leadership. Present Shield™ technology and clinical benefits in a customer‑relevant manner. Collaborate with Key Account Managers and the commercial team to optimize performance within health systems. Maintain effective communication and team operating mechanisms for collaboration inside and outside the team. Demonstrate Guardant Health values—integrity, respect, trust, positivity, and adaptability. Leverage Medical Science Liaisons, Account Executives, and other resources to deliver competitive differentiation and meet customer expectations. Engage in regional and national projects and serve as backup to the National Sales Director as needed. Mentor individuals within and outside the commercial organization. Uphold company mission through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork. Ensure sales force compliance with quality, regulatory, and company policies. Meet customer access requirements. Travel approximately 75% of the working time within the region and for regional or national meetings. Experience 7+ years of customer‑facing sales experience in medical, diagnostic, or device products with a track record of closing sales and exceeding expectations. 3+ years in a sales leadership or management capacity. Measured revenue generation at a diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology company. Leadership of sales teams promoting products to primary care and specialist providers. Experience managing product launches. Outstanding influencing, interpersonal, networking, and coaching skills. High‑level provider targeting and coverage experience. Strong analytical and reporting skills for sales metrics. Excellent communication, negotiation, problem‑solving, and customer service abilities. Deep knowledge of market, customer, distribution, and product for marketing objectives. Strategic business analysis and planning capabilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Cross‑functional collaboration skills. Independent work, proactive communication, multi‑project management, and priority setting. Strong administrative skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and regular use of Salesforce.com. Experience with various sales methodologies. Preferred Qualifications Previous leadership of sales teams promoting primary‑care and specialty‑provider products. Experience in a product launch role. Coaching experience with different sales methodologies. Education B.S. in life science, biology, business, or marketing is ideal. Compensation Base salary $172,000 – $190,000 annually. Commission, bonus, and equity compensation are not included in this range. Benefits & Flexibility Guardant Health offers a hybrid work model. Employees within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will work onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with additional flexible work‑from‑home days specified by policy.
